Koenigsheim, Germany is an idyllic corner of the highest plateau in the Swabian Alb in southern Germany’s dynamic industrial region. Peacefulness, quality of life and cutting-edge technology are not mutually exclusive. In fact, they go well together – in particular at LOMA. Our highly motivated and extremely skilled employees are the backbone of our success.

Our location in Poland is near Katowice and is a short 15 minutes to the freeway entrance toward Germany and 25 minutes to the Katowice airport. This area has historically been regarded as industrially well-developed. Because of this, our Poland location offers our most important asset: our well-trained and experienced employees.
LOMA Milestones

Milestones

Our history begins with LOMA’s founder, Lorenz Mattes, in 1956 during Germany’s post-war economic recovery. Even today, after rapid technological advances and numerous developments, the creative spark of founder Mattes still permeates the organization. It constantly drives us to adapt new technologies, readily invest in new manufacturing technologies and motivate our employees to performance excellence.

LOMA Milestone: 1956
Lorenz Mattes founds a sole proprietorship. He manufactures simple turned parts such as nuts and screws.
LOMA Milestone: 1962
The company employs approximately 20. The building is enlarged, adding 1500 m² to the manufacturing space.
LOMA Milestone: 1970
80 employees manufacture sophisticated turned and milled parts to customer specifications.
LOMA Milestone: 1983
Further expansion of the manufacturing space, this time by 3,200 m². Employment reaches 100. The first CNC-short lathe and the first machining center are established.
LOMA Milestone: 1995
Founder Lorenz Mattes enters well-earned retirement. LOMA is sold to Georg and Brigitte Knaier. They invest heavily in new manufacturing technology and quality assurance, and introduce a management information system.
LOMA Milestone: 1996
LOMA receives ISO 9001: 2000 certification from DQS Group in Frankfurt.
LOMA Milestone: 1998
LOMA begins to deploy CNC long lathes.
LOMA Milestone: 2003
LOMA Poland is established.
LOMA Milestone: 2005
Further investment in measurement instrumentation.
LOMA Milestone: 2007
Expansion of the production facility and warehouse by 1800 m², with a total of 5,000 m² for 120 employees in Germany and Poland.
LOMA Milestone: 2008
Delta management information system introduced.
LOMA Milestone: 2010
Upgrade from the old CAD system to AutoCAD Inventor 3D. Simultaneous introduction of Solidworks and SolidCAM.
LOMA Milestone: 2012
EN 9100:2009 certification (includes DIN EN ISO 9001:2008)
LOMA Milestone: 2015
LOMA launches a new website.
LOMA Milestone: 2019
Sale of the company and resignation of the couple Knaier.

Description
